Attendance tracking

Attendance tracking and kiosk check-in for martial arts schools

Students sign themselves in at the front desk. Your records stay accurate, problems surface before class starts, and you always know who needs a phone call.

A kiosk your students will actually use

Students type their phone number or student ID on a large numpad. That is all. There are no cards, key fobs or barcodes to hand out or replace.

  • When siblings share a parent's phone number, each child picks their own name from a list with photos.
  • The kiosk installs on the tablet's home screen, runs full screen, keeps the screen awake and shows a screensaver between classes.
  • It stays signed in as long as it is used at least every three days, so nobody has to log it in before class.
  • Mat Credit students use one credit automatically each time they check in.

Front desk alerts

Catch problems before the student reaches the mat

When something needs your attention, the kiosk plays a "Please see someone" sound so the front desk can have a quick word. It does this when a student:

Is frozen or cancelled

Their membership is paused or has ended, but they came to class.

Has no active agreement

They are training without a current membership on file.

Is about to expire

A perfect moment to talk about renewing.

Owes you information

A missing waiver, an updated phone number or anything else you flagged.

Turn attendance into retention

Students rarely quit all at once. They come a little less, then stop. MartialCRM shows you who is slipping while there is still time to help.

  • Absence lists for 15 days, one month, two months and three months.
  • An attendance report card with a letter grade, ready to print for a student or parent.
  • Your top 20 attendees, for recognition and leadership programs.
  • A dashboard chart of attendance over the last 30 days.
  • The last 24 check-ins at a glance for the front desk.

Attendance questions

What do I need for the kiosk?

Any tablet with a modern web browser. Add the kiosk to the tablet's home screen and it runs full screen, keeps the screen awake while in use and shows a screensaver between classes.

What if a student checks in twice?

A second check-in within four hours is ignored, so a student who taps in again before class is not counted twice. Staff can also delete a check-in made by mistake.

Can students check in at another branch?

Yes. A student can check in at any of your school's branches, and the visit is recorded on their record.

Can the kiosk see anything private?

The kiosk uses its own kiosk-only login, which can check students in and nothing else. It cannot open student records, agreements or reports.
